A gender reveal party

It took me all of 30 seconds to create a Pinterest board and start pinning after I was asked to help throw a gender reveal party for a friend. After days of going a little pin-happy, it was time to meet, divide tasks and stake out who was to do what. I was given the honorable task of decor, which, as you all know by now, means I was absolutely thrilled!! I'm not sure I should admit this... but about 90% of the decor came from my own home with no distraction to my normal decor. (Do I have a problem?? No! Hahha.) Her table was already pink and we insisted that it be part of the display! I mean, it was absolutely perfect!!

Everyone was pretty pleased with the "Here for the sex" slogan and couldn't wait to see my cheeks turn red when they told me! My friends are stinkers. It might be a little off for my taste but I would like to know what the neighbors though of the yard sign with almost the same statement surrounded by about 30 cars... We did get a good joke out of that one! Hahha.

Mom-to-be was hoping, wishing, and has been thinking about a girl since day one. Her and dad-to-be took turns smashing several pink, then blue, then pink, then blue hardboiled eggs on their foreheads, until finally there was a raw egg! And it was pink! It's a girl!! There was so much cheering, hugging, laughter, and maybe a few tears of joy. Which also means in a few short months there will be baby girl newborn pictures coming to a blog near you! ;D

Enjoy the decor, feel free to pin it, and please, copy our set up!

Isn't her pink table just gorgeous for this whole thing?! PERFECT!!!

These "babies in a blanket" were fun, taking little beef sausages and wrapping small parts of the crescent rolls around them was so much easier than I thought it would be!! They were a hit! Tip: Make more than you think you should, ours flew off the plate as soon as I could put them out.

I used some hardback books from my library and covered them with scrapbooking paper. It was a quick and easy way to step up my game on this table!

The fabulous silver platters actually cost me only $1.50 per platter!! I hot glued the bottom of a dollar store serving tray to the bottom of a (2 for $1.00) dollar store serving/salsa/dip bowl... and voila!! So the bottom part of the platter is just an upside down bowl. Thank you, Pinterest!

The popcorn had left over drizzle from the cake pops. I did a light covering for just the right mix of sweet and salty.

Using cut paper to fill the vases made a huge impact and added that finishing touch.

We put some ketchup and mustard into the small glass bowls, turns out quite a few people used some!
