Kevin & Cherrish's Wedding

The two of them are like each half a puzzle coming together in so many ways and fitting each other completely and perfectly. Kevin and Cherrish, as a union, are more amazing than they could be on their own. They have a love that is visible and powerful, and could easily be envied.

Hitchen Home ... in the guest bathroom

Throughout our home we have authentic African wood carvings that either my father-in-law or husband has brought home from the southern countries in Africa. Most are stained with shoe polish as opposed to typical wood stain and some of the carvings are made from a very fragile kind of wood. This makes cleaning a delicate process...

Newborn Fox

Baby Fox came into this wonderful world on a Monday morning and 12 days later he had his first marathon photoshoot. I tell all moms and dads, especially new parents, that we are on baby time; meaning however long it takes to get what I need for the newborn shoot is simply how long the session lasts. Because, inevitably, babies do what Fox did...

Back in time ... early photography

This last weekend I was digging through some of my old family photographs and had the idea to share some of my early, early photography work. When people ask me about why I started photography ... It wasn't until I was older that I realized this is simply how my brain works, how my eyes see the world, how I remember special moments; all in images.

Newborn Daniel

She calls him "little ducky," like it's a question, when he cries. She says it with so much love in her voice, like she's been saying it for years but he's only a month old. She kisses him softly on his face as he starts to calm down. Having her there soothes him and fixes whatever was wrong with his world.

Hitchen Home ... in the living room

In addition to photographing I have another love, decorating. One thing that made me fall in love with this house is the corner mantel and fireplace. For all the faults this design creates for the rest of the room in seating and such, I just love the deep mantel and the space it gives me to create anything my heart desires.

So this year, I'll switch it up a bit and share my favorite 16 Instagram posts of 2016. Even though I am a professional photographer, sometimes what comes from my cell phone surprises me! Tulsa Oratorio Chorus

I had the pleasure of photographing the Tulsa Oratorio Chorus while they hosted British composer Bob Chilcott and performed with the Tulsa Symphony Orchestra. It was so much fun to wander the auditorium and balcony because for the first time I realized- every seat in the house was a great one! The TOC is just that amazing!

Favorite 15 of 2015

My adventures in 2015 took me to many, many unexpected places; from Oregon to Tennessee, from below freezing temperatures to overwhelming heat from a very large fire. I feel like the last year pushed me outside my comfort zone but the work I created as a result is some of my favorite work yet!

nashville ... a must see list

My mom and I visited Nashville, Tennessee for the first time a few weeks ago and from our 3 day visit we crammed so many top sites into our few days of adventure. We wanted to take full advantage of our time so we did more tours that wondering around the city, but we both claim we will be back some day for the 'walking around and see what we stumble upon' portion of our trip!

diy ... photo booth

Today I am going to explain step-by-step how to build a photo booth from PVC pipe. Before building my photo booth I did a ton of Pinterest, DIY blog and online research but I still couldn't find any real step-by-step guides or lists of supplies. However, I complied a few popular designs and reinforced them with my own structural ideas so it would stand up against The Great Oklahoma Wind.
